Thank you for visiting my website. I also have some pictures of my creations on a Facebook page for the shop: once in a blue moon (www.facebook.com/onceinabluemoonLike). Feel free to check it out and maybe become a fan ("like" the page)!
Thanks so much for taking the time to find my website! This is somewhat of an overview of what I do and how I create jewelry. I can provide you with information regarding gold and silver, handmade, custom designed jewelry. The emphasis of this site is on helping you understand what you need to know to make the most informed decisions about your jewelry.
In the meantime you can reach me at 847 381 7525. I am looking forward to hearing from you. You can also contact me at my e-mail address: email@example.com.
If you are not familiar with me (my company) and what I do, and if this is your first contact, please feel free to get in touch with me! Please let me know what your needs and questions are, I will be more than happy to help.
once in a blue moon (yes, all lower case) was established in 1971. I have been designing and creating gold and silver jewelry ever since. My specialty is listening to what it is that you want and need, and then turning it into a one of a kind jewelry creation, i.e. working with you. My regular customers particularly value this one to one relationship, and my new customers probably will as well.
I use gold and sterling silver that is certified recycled, environmentally friendly, not destroying the earth further. I also use environmentally friendly, laboratory created stones if possible: rubies, sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds. Of course, the old fashion, dug out of the ground stones are available as well.
Don't sell your old gold!!! Most "cash for gold" type stores pay relatively very little for your old gold. If you find a few pieces of old gold not being used, bring them in and let's talk about turning your gold into a new creation. This has three distinct advantages: 1) recycling your gold eliminates the need to destroy the earth further, 2) you do not have to buy at all time high prices, 3) plus you have the ability to transform different karat gold, i.e. 10K into 14K, and change colors, i.e. white into yellow or yellow into white gold. Your old stones that might not be being used are probably usable in a new creation as well.
Repairs are available, some while you wait. I also have a jeweler friend that operates a laser repair studio. A laser jewelry repair studio can fix things that I cannot touch for fear of heat damage. There are also free watch repair estimates available. I change watch batteries while you wait and carry a selection of watch straps.
There is also a selection of other goldsmith's and silversmith's work on display and available here in the shop. I have a few other really neat things as well: antique Czechoslovakian glass crystals, originally made for lamps and chandeliers in the 1930s and 1940s, made into beautiful earrings; wonderfully unusual hand made leather bracelets with US coins and other ornaments by The Cripple Creek Hat Company; hand strung antique beads, some with metal ornaments/pendants from around the world; hand made amber and sterling silver jewelry from Poland; some Native American jewelry; and a variety of sterling silver jewelry. Ear piercing is available as well.
I am able to acquire most any stone: diamonds, sapphires, rubies, emeralds and just about everything else. I also specialize in laboratory created stones, saving the environment, one rock at a time. Laboratory created gem stones are beautiful and do not destroy the earth like digging up natural stones. They have the same chemical makeup and the same crystal structure as the ones found in nature, but are usually more perfect in color and clarity, and less expensive. Some are even more durable than natural counterparts.
The shop/business is located in the Ice House Mall at 200 Applebee Street, Barrington, IL. I have been in Barrington in The Ice House Mall since 1980.
PS Although I am very creative with gold and silver and turning ideas into jewelry, this entire web site project is a learning experience for me. Please be patient in my slow but, hopefully better and better ability to work this site. Thanks, Bob.
State of the art jewelry, made the old fashion way, one piece at a time with love, pride and care.
